Eurotrip: Day 4 (Touring Amsterdam)
07/05/2010
Breakfast — the europeans surely know their freaking croissants! i have not yet had a bad croissant (non toasted, which is impressive bc usually you need to heat up a croissant for it to be soft and delicious). Anyways all my euro croissants have been room temp, soft, and super yummy!!!
9:30am — this canal cruise is effing boring. lol i asked the canadian kid if he got a hold of some weed and he said he bought three brownies last night from this cafe near our hotel. Apparently he ate some this morning too. haha im interested to see if its gonna affect him but we’ll see. anyways i hope this canal cruise is over soon…
10:22am — women in a diamond showroom are like a pack of wolves that just caught a fucking piece of livestock. i suppose you would buy a relatively cheap diamond if youre destined for middle class living… but man one day ima get my wife a river color, vvs quality, 121 facet cut diamond. the diamond, however, wont be as beautiful as my future wife :p
6:15pm — today was pretty boring doing typical tour things. we went to visit a gouda cheese farm and a clogs farm. Later on we went to a fishermans town (for lunch)
– i just got out of the Anne Frank House Museum. it was pretty interesting but not too relevant for me because i haven’t read the book. I should really read the diary. But from what I could tell, there was some pretty crazy stuff going on in that house to keep the Franks hidden from the Nazis.
6:30pm – now im chillin by a canal at a local cafe. It is everything i wish my westwood sbux runs could be. It truly is everything i had hoped this eurocafe experience would be. as a side note, i see a shop across the canal that sells absinthe. i might try and sneak out with the canadian kid and get some absinthe :x
6:45pm — omg i saw an eastpak store while walking back to the hotel. you know, eastpack? the backpack maker? i was so surprised bc there are like no retail stores in america and i used to have an eastpak backpack from 4th to 6th grade before i upgraded to a (cool) jansport one for middle school. mmm brought back elementary school memories…
8:15pm — just finished a really good and unique dutch meal in this quaint home-style restaurant a few doors down from my hotel. just wow. got a draft heineken too; pretty good stuff. prolly off to the hotel now to chill and get ready for (yet another) early-ass wake up call.
