Eurotrip: Day 2 (Touring London)
07/03/2010
4:30am — I woke up and realized the time. I think whats worse is that it was already light out. My dad was already dressed and ready to go. Lol. Jetlag’s a funny thing.
5:30am – My dad came back from his morning walk and he said he stopped by the casino for a bit. Then he grinned big and showed us the £80 he won. Not bad after putting down only £20. He won like about $120.
I noticed that English people (or maybe even Europeans in general) seem to use their thumbs to wipe their cell phone screens every now and then. Like a habit. It seems almost pointless bc theyre just smudging the dirt around their screens. Though its quite entertaining to watch.
Post-Breakfast – dude the brits know how to eat! i swear fried bread is like the best thing since sliced bread. americans dont know what theyre missing! And dont even get me started on their HP sauce. its like A1 sauce (in america) but its like on a whole nother level in terms of taste. Plus the brits eat freaking mushrooms with their breakfast. Oh man, this was like the first breakfast in a very long time that i thoroughly enjoyed. I will dream about this meal for days…

Lol my british tour guide just said aluminium!
10:45am – I just realized im taller than most people here. Probably moreso than in america. Ive only encountered maybe 5-10 people taller than me. I’m currently waiting for the passing of the guards at buckingham palace. I think buckingham palace was featured in the end of one of the pierce brosnan 007 films. Maybe goldeneye? Oh yah, haha over here movie theaters are called “cinemas”.
12:00pm — had lunch at mcD’s and it was pretty different tho it was a highly similar experience to an american mcD’s. Although the sprite tasted funny; a little too much carbonation. Once again i found nutrition labels saying “Energy” and gving you a number in kilo-calories, which is the same as Calories for americans. Its just interesting…
My morning tour took us past Harrod’s which is famous for being the most expensive department store in England. Zara, the store i took a pic of yesterday, turned out to be next door to Harrod’s.

1:45pm – Lol afternoon tour is shot. Turns out the guy that booked us last night didnt see it through so we paid like £132 for no reservation. Smh. Maybe the london eye is more of a possibility now :D
3:33pm — im at the london tower (an old barracks and war castle) and i noticed europeans love wearing the same blue as my plain blue shirt. its actually pretty embarrassing. i wish i didnt wear my blue shirt today >_> and i keep seeing people eating these double scoop ice cream cones. Its like got two single scoop sized cups put together but just one handle. It looks like an upside down figure of two balls and a penis. Oh you funny europeans… I will try and snap a shot for y’all. We made friends with a grandma and her god-daughter. Shes just a shy high school kid. Lol.
4:30pm — so i learned that in europe you always tip for services. I suppose its only customary but in america we usually dont tip unless its extraordinary service (excluding food)
4:45pm — gonna go to the london eye! Woo its just like from the fantastic four rise of the silver surfer :p
6:30pm — While waiting in line i got hit on by a gay indian dude and he attempted to kidnap me by asking me to take a picture of him and taking me away from the group. Im flattered. Lol. No seriously its making me rethink London. The grandma, Hannah, was explaining the red light district of london to me after the incident.

The london eye was amazing. I feel like an awk high schooler trying to talk to Irena (the little girl accompanying her godmother) bc she doesnt talk. Im actually really surprised that she doesnt know UCLA even tho shes a hs senior and goes to school in NY.
lol i was gonna ask irena if she lives on the upper east side. But then i realized id come across as a fag who watches gossip girl. Not like i care what a little girl thinks of me or anything >_>
