What can I say? I have one awesome mathematics professor in George Mohler. Funny story, Karo google searched “George Mohler” in the hopes that one of the first few results would be our course webpage. Well no surprise here, it was, but what was interesting about his search was that right below our course webpage was a link to a very small, private website.
Curiousity killed the cat, but not the Karo. Obviously he clicked the link (which is how this post was created) and to his surprise, there was a huge — and I mean huge! — photo of our professor in his youthful days. Fine, he’s still rather young (especially for a professor), but of course to a person in his late-teens anyone seems old, right?

The first picture is his ‘younger’, musically inclined self while the second picture is his ‘older’, more professional self. His unreleased album contains two songs, Love to be in Love & End of an Era (Warning: links lead directly to the “.mp3″ file).
Remember kids, file sharing is illegal and…
$3000 is the average fine paid for illegal file sharing by UCLA students to the recording, film and software industry. Don’t be a part of this statistic. There are safer, legal ways to gain access to your favorite music, TV shows, movies and software.
However, Professor Mohler is definitely a ‘cool’ guy. His lectures — though not very entertaining due to his personality (or lack thereof) — are very engaging. And that is definitely a good reason for me to wake up at 7 am three days a week.
Side Note: This morning’s lecture was amazing. He simply applied our current knowledge of differential equations to problems dealing with the mixing of chemicals/liquids over time intervals. I know, it sounds nerdy.
For those of you interested in learning more about Professor George Mohler, he enjoys fighting crime by applying his knowledge of differential equations in his spare time.

Please, I just hung out with him today at 4:00 PM until 4:30 PM.

I wouldn’t say office hours are the best way to “hang out.” Did you ask him about his (sunken) musical career? Or get advance tips about our next midterm?

Dude why don’t you guys believe me. We talked about the music, he got a good laugh knowing that his songs are our music of choice when doing math hw.

George is great. His band is releasing their CD as I type. I am his aunt, well his wife’s aunt. He just joined our clan in Sepstember and we all love him.
